The insulin use of the drug has nothing to do with it being used as a weight loss treatment. Try paying attention. Good lord, you never fail to show me your lack of intelligence.

Ozempic is an appetite suppressant, but it also:
* helps your pancreas produce more insulin when your blood sugar is high
* helps prevent your liver from making and releasing too much sugar
* slows down food leaving your stomach (similar to the effect of bariatric surgery)
Trump got them to be communists....pretty hilarious.
To be fair about it, if you can actually get them to talk about their own personal ideals without a GOP cheat sheet in front of them, we all pretty much have similar beliefs. The real difference is that we disagree on which party or politician actually represents those ideals.
If people would just stop repeating memes and partisan sound bites, and actually think about their own beliefs, the world would be a lot different...

How many of you know how weight loss drugs work?
They curb the patient's appetite. So the next time someone tells you they can't lose weight by eating healthy, they are full of crap. Because all these drugs and surgeries do is reduce how much they eat.
These drugs are from the same companies that knowingly created the opiod crisis. You know, the same companies we gave blank checks to, then paid whatever price they asked, to develop a vaccine that we asked no questions about.

But guess that's what happens when this crowd is addicted to whining and gullible as can be.

Two threads down they're complaining about how the democrats are socialist and here they are complaining that the president won't regulate the cost of goods. Lol!

Do you deny that the last example I gave, stating that "the recent plan from the House GOP to raise Medicare eligibility from 65 to 67," would minimize the number of people that can get Medicare?
In 2022, they proposed a similar plan to raise the age to 70...
And it looks like the majority of the GOP Presidential candidates supported raising the eligibility age, although Trump did not.

The G.O.P.'s Long War Against Medicare and Social Security https://www.nytimes.com/202...urity.html
How Biden Got Republicans To Run Away From Their History of Pushing Social Security and Medicare Cutshttps://time.com/6254832/re...-medicare/
That third one points out the recent plant from the House GOP to raise Medicare eligibility from 65 to 67. It also points out that DeSantis had a plan to privatize Medicare entirely.
This isn't a new thing, DLD, the GOP has been going after Medicare for a long time. Which makes sense to their original ideology of "small government."

This is a really interesting turn of events... the GOP on here are demanding that the federal government have the right to put a cap on prices for products?
In 2019, the Democrats proposed 2 bills to lower prescription drug prices. The GOP shot down both bills, saying that "it will hurt competition and shrink the number of new drugs entering the market."
We saw Biden pressure insulin manufacturers to voluntarily cap their prices, which they did... but again, that was voluntary.
The Inflation Reduction Act gave the government the ability to negotiate rates for patients on Medicare, but as you know, the GOP has worked really hard to minimize the number of people that can get Medicare.
What do you think Biden could do to affect the price of Ozempic that the GOP would support? Or are you siding against the GOP and agreeing with the multiple attempts by the Democrats to cap the prices on prescription medicine?

The big question here is why are Americans paying almost 7 times as much as the Canadians. And yes, were is the Biden admin on this?

I guess do nothing Joe is ignoring price gouging in the drug industry as he is in the food industry. Especially the beef packers. Pre-Biden beef processors charged $200/head for cattle. After Joe took over the price soared to $1000 and more. Biden has even commented on this but of course did nothing.

ABC News reports that they cost less than $5.00 to manufacture. Canadians pay $155/month. Where Biden administration on price gouging like this?
Hey Gandydancer... where Joe?
