The Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center, in partnership with the Alexander Central High School Chorus, will host the choir’s Spring Dinner Theatre.
The Alexander Central High School Women’s Choir, under the direction of Bernadette Watts, will perform “Step Up to the Plate” by Jacalyn Kalin and Dale Stein (Produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Denver, Colorado) on May 24th. This outstanding, one act play empowers girls of all ages to pursue their dreams and see the obstacles in their way as challenges, not impossibilities. The Choir will perform musical selections before and after the play.
The Alexander Central High School Concert Choir, under the direction of Ron Vannoy, will perform a selection of rock and country classics on May 29th. This line up of hit songs includes Signed, Sealed Delivered, Old Time Rock N’ Roll, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams tunes, and more.
Andris Rozukalns will serve as the accompanist for both performances.
Both performances will be held at the Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center’s Educational Complex (70 Hiddenite Church Road in Alexander County) beginning at 6:30pm.
Admission for each performance is $16 per person, which includes dinner, the show, and tax. Reservations are required and may be made by calling (828) 632-6966.
