Joseph my daughter sold a hunting license to a man at Kmart who claimed he knew what he was doing. The next day we heard he had fallen out of a tree near Sparta, the gun went off and he was killed. It bothered her for a while until I convinced her she had followed the rules and did all she was required to do to issue his lecense abd sge had no fault in his carelessness .

Bullying is a big problem. It went on in the school when I was there and it continues today. What is needed is for children to have strong support from their parents. There also needs to be training so that kids understand guns are not toys A couple years of manditory ROTC would go a long way to showing kids just what a gun can do. It would also teach them survival if it comes to that Parents also need to learn about guns and gun safety and make certain children know you do not point any gun you do not mean to use. Most parents are too busy to actually teach their kids just trying to survive and look at teachers as babysitters. I was brought up around guns and I have yet to see any gun load itself and shoot anyone. There is always a human factor. Kids need to learn to walk away from bullies and if that doesn't work then defend themselves in whatever manner they have to. I was also raise you don't start a fight but if one cannot be avoided to end it. I only had to fight once in school and the antagonist does not ever want a rematch. I saw her recently and offered a rematch and she said no way, she learned to keep her hands to herself.

All that matters is that the good guys will "have" the guns whether they can get to them in time is another matter. Remember guns don't kill people, people kill people so if they can't get to the guns in time they can take the shooter out with their bare hands.

Schools are gun free zones so how is that going to work? Who will be qualified in case of a emergency,? Teachers ? Principle? Who will want to be held accountable?

How would they stop bullying, when half the time it's the teachers that are bullying the kids?

Or at the very least, they were bullies in school and don't recognize the bullying because they think it's normal.

Why don't they just stop bullying and start a good mental health program instead?

Madison county has decided to put AR-15s in all of its school campuses.

Thoughts?

They say that the rifles will be locked up in a safe, which sounds great. But if an active shooter shows up with an AR-15, they're going to be done killing kids by time the SRO gets to the safe and unlocks it.

I'm not sure what it's supposed to accomplish other than being a publicity stunt.
